How the league works
All teams entered will play each other twice (home & away fixtures), once on each date above. At the conclusion of all matches on Monday 6th March, the team with the most points will be the league winners. If more than one team have the same maximum points, goal difference will be used to decide the league winner and final league finish position
6-A-SIDE (1x goalkeeper, 5x outfield players)
SUBSTITUTES – Maximum 3 per match, ball must be out of play to complete a roll-on roll-off substitution.
Male or Female participation
AGE – All players must be 50 years of age or greater to take part in the league (or at discretion of league admin)
MATCH DURATION – 20 mins total (10mins e/w), change of ends.
BALL SIZE – 3G: Size 5
PLAYING EQUIPMENT – Astro trainers or moulded football studs are permitted, but no metal studs. Shin pads are compulsory.
NO RUNNING, JOGGING - On or off the ball – BY ANY PLAYER. A direct free-kick will be awarded to the opponent team.
LOW IMPACT TACKLING ONLY – No heel, ankle rapping from side or behind. NO SLIDE TACKLES.
RETREAT DISTANCE – All players must retreat a minimum of 2 metres from the ball when a goal-kick, free-kick, throw-in (kick-in) takes place.
THROW IN – These will be by means of a kick-in with the ball placed behind or on the touchline.
CORNER KICK – These will be by means of a kick-in with the ball placed directly on the corner arc.
PENALTY KICKS - Defender enters the goal area and plays the ball results in a penalty
GOAL AREA – No outfield player may enter the goal area and goalkeepers may not leave the goal area.
ALL FREE KICKS ARE DIRECT.
NO BALL HEAD HEIGHT RESTRICTION.
A goalkeeper may pick the ball up when receiving the ball back from his own team player.
All kicks from hand, the ball must touch the floor first (dropkick).
Must wear a top that distinguishes them from other players and officials.
Referee asks a player to leave the pitch (Dissent/aggression etc) – A player that has been asked to leave the pitch by the referee takes no further part in that match and misses the next league match. This player can be replaced (similar to a substitution).
